Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By installing, accessing, or playing Starsort^™ ("the Game"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Game. The current release includes an endless mission ladder, Constellation Rush (unlocks after level 50), four daily mini-games, The Multi-Vs live duels (Story and Star Paths), Star Base, and the Cosmos Market. If you accept these Terms on behalf of a child you are responsible for, you accept them on that child's behalf as well.

The Multi-Vs live duels pair you with another player over the internet. They are on the map in Story and Star Paths, like daily mini-games. You can also play a friend with a friend code or a private arena code. Friend play is for ages 13 and up. Live arenas run on Cloudflare. Leaving a match or losing the connection may count as a forfeit. Play fair: do not use bots, fake inputs, or ticket tricks to win. Do not harass other pilots.

2. Eligibility, age gate, and who may buy

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and you must not be barred from using the Game under applicable law. When you first play, the Game asks for your birth month, day, and year. We use that date to apply age-appropriate rules in the Game and in our Privacy Policy. On CrazyGames we do not show the birthday screen. CrazyGames is for players 13 and older. We treat that play as the 13–17 group so teen spend confirms still apply. Privacy and Terms stay in Settings.

Under 13: You may play the endless mission ladder for free. The Cosmos Market is limited to Stardust-only Looks (cosmetics) — no Nova packs, passes, real-money checkout, or rewarded ads. Constellation Rush and daily mini-games follow the same age rules when unlocked. In The Multi-Vs you may practice against the computer or use same-device play; live duels against other people online and friend arenas require age 13 or up.

Ages 13 and up: You may use the Cosmos Market (passes, Nova packs, Looks, and Trade) and optional ads as described in these Terms. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use purchases and subscriptions only with a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms and any charge. Teens may see extra confirmation steps before large Nova spends and may turn on an optional spending lock in Settings → Parent controls; prices are the same for teens and adults.

A parent or guardian may switch this device between under-13 play and 13+ play in Settings → Parent controls with a password they set on the device. The stored birthday does not change. 13+ play turns on the shop, ads in the apps, and the 13+ rules in these Terms. Under-13 play turns those off. Loading a User ID applies that account's saved age group on this device and replaces the last player's age setting here. We do not move the full birthday with the User ID.

The Game is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your country) without verifiable parental or guardian consent where required. If you accept these Terms on behalf of a child, you accept them on that child's behalf as well.

3. License to use the Game

We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms. We and our licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Game, including its code, art, audio, characters, names, logos, level designs, and the physics engine. No rights are granted except as expressly stated.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, frame, resell, or create derivative works from the Game; remove proprietary notices; or use the Game to build a competing product, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

4. Accounts and security

Some features rely on a save tied to your device, browser, or a synced account. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device or account and for keeping your sign-in and billing details secure. We are not liable for loss caused by unauthorized use you could have prevented. Tell us promptly through Send feedback in Settings if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Virtual items — no ownership (license only)

No ownership. In-game currencies and items—including without limitation Nova gems, Stardust, boosts, cosmetics, and other digital content—are virtual items. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use those virtual items solely as part of the Game, subject to these Terms. Players do not own the virtual gems or other virtual items; they own only the right to use them within the Game under this license. Except as required by applicable law, virtual items have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, and are not your property.

6. Virtual items — no transfer

No transfer. You may not trade Stardust (or any other in-game currency or virtual item) for real money, goods, or services outside the Game's intended systems, and you may not sell, gift, or move Stardust, Nova gems, or other virtual items to another person's account or between accounts. Any balance or inventory is tied to the account or device context we support and may not be merged, transferred, or withdrawn except as we expressly allow in writing or as required by law.

7. Fair play, prohibited conduct, and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Game, remove content, or revoke virtual items for conduct we reasonably believe violates these Terms or harms the Game or other players—including without limitation cheating, automation where prohibited, tampering with client or server data, using unauthorized third-party software, fraud or payment abuse, harassment, cheating in The Multi-Vs matches, or exploiting bugs in the physics engine or other game systems to gain an unfair advantage.

If we terminate your access for cheating or for exploiting the physics engine (or similar abuse), we may do so without refunding your Nova gem balance or other virtual items, except where applicable law requires otherwise. You may stop using the Game at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution—survive.

8. Player content (pilot name and feedback)

If you submit a pilot name, nickname, feedback, or other content, you confirm you have the right to do so and that it is not unlawful, infringing, offensive, or misleading. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and store that content to operate and improve the Game (for example, to show your pilot name where the Game displays it). We may remove or change content that violates these Terms.

9. Purchases

If you are under 13, you cannot buy anything in the game. The shop, real-money checkout, and rewarded ads are turned off for you.

Purchases of virtual items are generally final. Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in revocation of virtual items or suspension of access, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Prices, offers, and item contents may change at any time, and taxes may apply.

Web billing. When you play at Starsort^™ in a browser, card payments are handled by our payment partners. We do not store your full card number on our servers.

• Stellar Welcome Bundle ($9.99) — one-time checkout through Stripe (not a subscription). Grants Star Pass perks, saved Stardust release, Nova gems, and a 7-day Solar Flare paddle trial. Offered in the Cosmos Market during your first week in-game.
• Star Pass, Nova Pass, No-Ads Pass, and Nova gem packs — checkout through RevenueCat Web Billing, which uses Stripe to charge your card.
• Event Horizon Emergency Kit ($0.99) — a consumable same-try resume offered on the arena fail screen (full lives and run-only boosts); purchased through RevenueCat when shown in context.

Nova gem packs are one-time consumable purchases at listed prices (from $0.99 through $99.99 depending on the pack). The first purchase of the Comet pack ($9.99) may include a one-time bonus grant (2,000 Nova gems instead of 1,150) as shown in the shop; other packs grant the totals displayed at checkout.

Native app billing. When you play in the iOS or Android app, purchases go through Apple App Store or Google Play and their billing rules apply.

9a. Subscriptions (Star Pass and Nova Pass)

Star Pass ($9.99 per month) and Nova Pass ($4.99 per month) are auto-renewing subscriptions. Payment is charged when you confirm purchase and again at the start of each renewal period unless you cancel before the current period ends. Subscriptions renew at the same price until you cancel, unless we give you advance notice of a price change as required by your platform or applicable law. Pass perks in the Game are valid for up to 30 days each billing period.

Star Pass includes, while active: release of saved Stardust from the Stellar Bank; unlimited story Hearts on new levels (level 11 and up); +25% Stardust on level clears; one extra power-up slot (up to four total); unlimited Daily Mini Game tries without spending Stardust; and related cosmetics — as shown in the Cosmos Market at purchase time. One hundred fifty Nova gems are granted on your first Star Pass activation only (including via the Welcome Bundle), not on renewals.

Nova Pass grants 150 Nova gems per local calendar day for 30 days (4,500 total if claimed every day), as shown in the shop.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Starsort^™.

Cancel on Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Starsort^™.

Cancel on the web: open Settings → Manage subscription, use the link in your receipt email from Stripe or RevenueCat, or Send feedback in Settings and ask us to help. Cancellation stops the next renewal charge only. You keep Star Pass or Nova Pass perks until the end of your current 30-day period.

No refunds. Subscription payments are not refundable. If you cancel, you still get pass perks for the rest of the 30 days you already paid for. Apple, Google, or our payment partners may grant refunds only in rare cases under their own policies; we do not issue partial-period refunds directly, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

9b. One-time web purchases

Stellar Welcome Bundle is a one-time web offer (typically during your first week after starting the Stellar realm). It grants a 30-day Star Pass window, Nova gems, saved Stardust release, and a 7-day Solar Flare paddle look trial. It does not auto-renew. Each device or browser may only receive the bundle once unless we reset it for support.

Nova gem packs are one-time consumable purchases at the prices shown in the shop. They add Nova to your save and do not renew.

No-Ads Pass ($4.99) is a one-time purchase. While you own it, pop-up and banner ads are removed for eligible players (ages 13+). Optional rewarded ads remain available. It does not renew.

Event Horizon Emergency Kit ($0.99) is a consumable arena resume (full lives and run-only boosts for the current try). It is not a subscription and does not carry over to the next mission.

Refund requests for one-time web purchases must go through Stripe, RevenueCat, or Send feedback in Settings. We may revoke granted virtual items if a payment is reversed.

9c. Withdrawal / "cooling-off" rights

Where the law gives you a right to cancel a digital purchase (for example, EU/UK consumers), you agree that we begin supplying virtual items and digital content immediately on purchase, and you acknowledge that once delivered you may lose any statutory withdrawal right for that item. This does not limit refund rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

10. Advertising

On the iOS and Android apps, the Game may show optional rewarded video ads that you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward (for example, doubling run Stardust or a second chance). Players who are 13 or older may also see pop-up, banner, or app-open ads between missions, on hub screens, or when you open the app after being away (after level 10). Full-screen ads typically appear after every sixth completed mission try when you leave the result screen, with a session cap and cooldown, and not on chapter-wall clears. App-open ads never show during a level. Rewarded ads are opt-in and require a tap. Ads may be served by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob, Unity Ads, or ironSource), which may collect device and usage data as described in our Privacy Policy. The No-Ads Pass removes pop-up and banner ads for eligible players. Star Pass does not remove pop-up or banner ads. Optional rewarded ads remain available in the apps for players who choose them. The web browser version does not show ads or rewarded-ad offers. The Steam desktop version does not show ads, rewarded-ad offers, pop-up ads, or banners, and it does not grant a reward for watching an ad. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for goods or services they advertise.

11. Changes to the Game; availability

The Game is provided on a free-to-play basis and is offered "as available." We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, levels, items, events, or the Game as a whole, and we may update or patch it at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that any specific item or level will remain available, or that progress or virtual items will persist indefinitely. Where we permanently retire the Game, we will provide notice where reasonably practicable and as required by law.

12. Third-party services and links

The Game relies on and may link to third-party services (payment, ads, analytics, hosting, and platform stores). Analytics may include how you use daily mini-games and Constellation Rush, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, or content, and we do not endorse them.

13. Intellectual property and feedback

All trademarks, logos, and brand features of the Game are our property or our licensors'. If you send ideas or suggestions, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual right to use them without obligation or compensation to you. If you believe content in the Game infringes your intellectual property, contact us at info@jaxper.app with enough detail to identify the work and your claim, and we will respond as required by applicable law (including the DMCA where it applies).

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The Game and all virtual items are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Game will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you; in that case, warranties are limited to the minimum scope permitted by law.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Jaxper, LLC, its owners, employees, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or virtual items, arising out of or relating to the Game—even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Game will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for the Game in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50. These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

16. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jaxper, LLC and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Game, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

17. Dispute resolution, arbitration, and class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. First, contact us through Send feedback in Settings or info@jaxper.app and give us 30 days to resolve any dispute informally.

If we cannot resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute relating to the Game or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief for intellectual-property or unauthorized-use claims. Arbitration will be administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, seated in Tarrant County, Texas, United States.

You and we agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative action. Where individual arbitration or the class-action waiver is not enforceable under applicable law, that portion is severed and the dispute proceeds in the courts identified below. Consumers in the EU, UK, and other regions retain any mandatory rights to bring claims in their local courts and to use local dispute-resolution bodies; nothing here removes those rights.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to the dispute-resolution section above. Where arbitration does not apply, the courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, United States have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you the right to your home courts.

19. Apple and Google app-store terms

If you download the Game from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the Game or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. The license granted is limited to use on Apple-branded devices you control, per Apple's Usage Rules. If you download from Google Play, Google's terms also apply, and Google is not responsible for the Game. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. restricted-party list.

20. Export controls and sanctions

You agree to comply with all applicable export, re-export, and sanctions laws, and you may not use the Game if you are barred from receiving it under those laws.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice (for example, in the Game, at https://jaxper.app, or by updating the effective date above). Continued use of the Game after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law; otherwise the prior version governs your existing purchases.

22. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any platform or payment terms, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Game. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You agree we may give you notices electronically, including in the Game or by email.
